Paramount Home Entertainment UK & Ireland today announces its plans to release Margin Call, the Oscar-nominated Wall Street thriller on DVD and Blu-ray on 12th November with exclusive extras.
In January 2012 Margin Call was Oscar-nominated for ‘Best Original Screenplay’ at The 83rd Annual Academy Awards® and was released in the UK and Ireland to instant critical acclaim.
Reviewed by The New York Times’ A.O.Scott as 'an extraordinary feat in filmmaking' and written and directed by first time feature director J.C.Chandor, Margin Call was described by Mark Kermode as 'genuinely gripping' and The Observer’s Philip French as 'a first-rate thriller.'
Boasting a phenomenal all-star cast and stand out performances from Kevin Spacey, Jeremy Irons, Paul Bettany, Stanley Tucci, Demi Moore, Penn Badgley, Simon Baker and Zachary Quinto, Margin Call is set in the high-stakes world of the financial industry and an edge-of-your-seat thriller entangling the key players at an investment firm during one perilous 24-hour period in the early stages of the 2008 financial crisis.
When entry-level analyst Peter Sullivan (Zachary Quinto) unlocks information that could prove to be the downfall of the firm, a roller-coaster ride ensues as decisions both financial and moral catapult the lives of all involved to the brink of disaster.
MARGIN CALL has also won a host of industry awards, including: New York Film Critics Award for ‘Best First Feature Film’, ‘Best Original Screenplay’ at the San Francisco Film Critics Circle Awards, the prestigious Robert Altman Award at this year’s Independent Spirit Awards 2011 and ‘Best Debut Director’ at the National Board of Review, USA.
Paramount Home Media’s Senior Brand Manager Luisa Cotrozzi said "We are delighted to announce Paramount’s release of Margin Call on DVD and Blu-ray on 12th November.
'This Oscar-nominated film features an outstanding cast and earned strong critical acclaim - reviewed as being 'the best Wall Street film yet'.
