Set for rental and retail DVD release on the 13 August 2007 courtesy of Momentum Pictures, Mammoth is a wild and woolly adventure that blends the 50s alien-invasion film with the 70s revenge opus, and in the process unleashes several tons of marauding monster. An iconic Sci Fi title in the same vein as Mansquito and Chupacabra, Mammoth stars a 40,000-year-old creature that has come back to life to wreak havoc on a small town. Starring alongside this oversized superstar is Vincent Ventresca (Larva, The Invisible Man), Tom Skerrit (Alien, Contact), Summer Glau (Firefly, Serenity) and Leila Arcieri (xXx, Son of the Beach)., with direction by Tom Cox (Larva, Alien Lockdown). Under orders to contain the threat that possesses the mammoth at all costs, special agents Powers and Whitaker are given 17 hours to kill it or the entire town will be decimated. They recruit local palaeontologist, Dr. Frank Abernathy, to help them hunt the creature down before its rampage of death and destruction gets to the outside world. With the clock ticking and the body count rising, the only chance Dr Aberthany has of saving his daughter and B-movie fanatic father is to help agents destroy his lifes work.
