Paul Reiser is probably most famous amongst people of a certain age for being the less hairy of My Two Dads. He has also made appearances in the likes of Beverly Hills Cop and Aliens and actually co-wrote Mad About You.
Lisa Kudrow appeared in Mad About You as the ditzy waitress, Ursula, a character she later resurrected as Phoebes twin sister in Friends. Even after Friends became a success she continued to make guest appearances as Ursula in Mad About You.
Hunt won the role over Teri Hatcher, who was also considered. The role was originally offered to Bonnie Hunt (no relation), who turned it down.
Paul Reiser plays the piano during the programmes opening theme tune.
Numerous guest stars popped up during the series run, including Bruce Willis, Cindy Lauper, Ellen DeGeneres and even Al Gore.
Reiser and Hunt were each paid $1 million per episode for the final series.
The show collected numerous awards during its run, including a Golden Globe for Helen Hunt for best female performance, five Emmy Awards and numerous American Comedy Awards.
Reiser is also a successful novelist, with his first book, Couplehood, selling over two million copies and reaching the number one spot on The New York Times best-seller list. His current novel Babyhood is out now.
As well as 10 successful years on the ever-popular Friends Lisa Kudrow is widely regarded as the most successful member of the cast, having followed the series with acclaimed performances in movies like The Opposite of Sex, Happy Endings and Wonderland. She has three films coming out in the next year.
Reiser rents his old flat to Cosmo Kramer (Michael Richards) who was a regular character in Seinfeld.
