When Oliver (Jay Baruchel) returns to his small-town home to attend his estranged father’s funeral, his uneventful life suddenly takes a turn.
He has just inherited the family business - a funeral home on the verge of bankruptcy.
Aided and abetted by the bewitching embalmer Roberta (Rose Byrne), Oliver accidentally, and then not-so-accidentally, provides himself with paying customers.
Together they begin to knock off townsfolk in an effort to keep the funeral home in business. As they scramble to stay out of jail, the body count rises and their victims expire in increasingly bizarre and brutal 'accidents'.
