Academy Award nominated director Todd Haynes (Velvet Goldmine, Far From Heaven) delivers this dazzling, experimental and unconventional journey into the life and times of music’s most revered and enigmatic artist: Bob Dylan.

An all-star cast including Richard Gere, Christian Bale, the late Heath Ledger and Cate Blanchett (in her Golden Globe winning and Academy Award nominated role) portray the six distinct stages of Dylan’s life as a series of shifting personae from the public to the private to the fantastical weaving together a rich and colourful portrait of this American icon.

The result is a film that spans several decades and genres, each convincingly embodying a part of the Dylan legend; from Greenwich Village folk singer to electric guitar trailblazer to born again preacher.

In addition to this fantastic ensemble cast, Michelle Williams (who plays Coco Rivington, aka Edie Sedgwick) and Julianne Moore (in the role of Alice Fabian, aka Joan Baez) also give highly compelling performances as the acquaintances and colleagues of Dylan.

The soundtrack that accompanies Todd Haynes' biopic of the folk icon includes the likes of Sonic Youth, Cat Power, Yo La Tengo, The Hold Steady, and Antony & The Johnsons as well as former Pavement front man Stephen Malkmus.

Sufjan Stevens also lends his typically baroque touch to "Ring Them Bells." The soundtrack also features a previously unreleased Dylan recording of the title track I’m Not There.

I’m Not There is a film that beautifully portrays the ever-changing life of a man whose music has changed the world and spanned generations.

The DVD includes over one hour of special features, including a moving tribute to the late Heath Ledger, seen here in one of his final appearances. Breathtaking appearances from a diversely skilled cast will leave DVD viewers in awe, while the generous track list and dynamic set of contributors provides the perfect accompaniment to this intricate and incisive motion picture.
