Hammett

Hammett

Based on the novel of the same name, Hammett is the story of detective novel writer Dashiell Hammett played by Frederic Forrest (Apocalypse Now, The Conversation), as he investigates the mysterious disappearance of a beautiful Chinese cabaret actress in San Francisco.

As he is thrust into a seedy world of underage hookers, blackmail and murder, he finds inspiration for his masterpiece novel The Maltese Falcon.

Hammett is a classic homage to noir films and pulp fiction produced by Francis Ford Coppola (Apocalypse Now, The Godfather).

It was Wim Wenders’ (Pina; Paris, Texas) American directorial debut and received a Palme d’Or nomination at Cannes.

Hammett is released 7th November
