Wilson unintentionally puts his wife’s life in danger when he writes a negative newspaper article for the New York Times challenging the basis for the U.S. involvement in the Iraq war, claiming the Bush administration manipulated intelligence about weapons of mass destruction to justify the invasion of Iraq.
As payback for his actions, the White House leaks Plame’s undercover status, leaving her international contacts vulnerable, her career in shambles and her life threatened.
