Dollhouse DVD

Legendary Joss Whedon, creator of groundbreaking cult favourites Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly, reunites with fellow Buffy alumna Eliza Dushku for a thrilling new sci-fi drama Dollhouse.

Season 1 is available to own on a 4-disc DVD box-set from 7th September 2009 courtesy of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

Dollhouse explores the lives of an underground group of beautiful and seductive young people known as 'Dolls'.

These men and women have sold their bodies and minds to the Dollhouse for a period of three years, their minds are repeatedly wiped blank by the house’s programming expert Topher (Fran Kranz Training Day, Donnie Darko), and can then be imprinted with an infinite number of different personalities.

In this way they become (for the right price) the perfect partner, the perfect assassin, or the perfect plaything for Los Angeles’ super-rich.

Unfortunately, however, the programming technology is far from perfect, and as the series progresses the house’s most popular doll Echo (Dushku, Tru Calling, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) starts to remember glimpses of her past engagements, and the woman she once was before she entered the house.

Dollhouse features a talented ensemble cast including Olivia Williams (Broken Lines, The Sixth Sense), Dichen Lachman (Neighbours) and Harry Lennix; (State of Play, The Matrix Reloaded), and  engaged a record number of viewers when it premiered on the Sci-fi Cannel in May of this year.

If you could engineer the perfect partner, would you? Are the dolls simply ‘employees’ or are they really slaves? Decide for yourself when this innovative new series debuts on DVD on 7th September.
