Rating: 1/5
Kevin Smith has brought some really great movies to the big screen in his career including the likes of Chasing Amy, Dogma and Clerk so the question is where has it all gone wrong?
Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan team up for new movie cop/buddy movie Cop Out is his latest project and quite frankly it's awful.
Two longtime NYPD partners on the trail of a stolen, rare, mint-condition baseball card find themselves up against a merciless, memorabilia-obsessed gangster.
Jimmy is the veteran detective whose missing collectible is his only hope to pay for his daughter's upcoming wedding, and Paul is his "partner-against-crime" whose preoccupation with his wife's alleged infidelity makes it hard for him to keep his eye on the ball.
We have had so many buddy cop movies over the years and sadly Smith offers us nothing new with his new take on the genre.
The movie crawls along at a snails pace and the script just is not remotely funny, no matter how hard it tries.
Tracy Morgan and Seann William Scott both deliver two of the most irritating performances of the year and you really do have to wonder what Bruce Willis was thinking when he signed onto this rubbish.
The actors seemed to have a really good time making the movie, shame that the audience cannot say the same thing.
If you are a Kevin Smith fan then this movie will be a major disappointment... Smith can be so much better than this!
Cop Out is out now.
