Studio Ghibli movie are always something of beauty and they really are a powerhouse when it comes to animation movies - trust me no other animation studio is making movie like these.

The Clock family are four-inch-tall people who live anonymously in another family's residence, borrowing simple items to make their home.

Life changes for the Clocks when their daughter, Arrietty, is discovered by a human boy.

Arrietty is Studio Ghibli’s take on the popular take of The Borrowers and it really is a stunningly beautiful movie - the animation is simply stunning.

If anyone is tired of the slightly obnoxious CGI driven animation movies then you should really check this one out as it garden that Arrietty loves to explorer is brought to life so exquisitely.

The movie is filled with colour and the viewer is taken on an adventure with the young Arrietty who is so desperate to explore the outside world.

This is charming from star to finish as the characters are so wonderfully crafted - Arrietty for example wants to see the best in the humans the rest of her family fears.

This is a movie about friendship against the odds as well as being about accepting and being tolerant of those who are different.

Studio Ghibli has brought us some great movies in recent year including the likes of Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle and while Arrietty doesn’t quite match those dizzy heights it is s superb movie that immediately draws you in.

Arrietty is a good old fashioned piece of magical storytelling that is brought to life with wonderful animation and an excellent score.

Arrietty is a great movie from start to finish and will be unlike any other animation movie that we will see this year.

Arrietty is out on DVD & Blu-Ray now
