American Son

American Son

Anything can happen in 96 hours in the coming of age drama American Son, released to own on DVD by Momentum Pictures on 22 February 2010.

Garnering positive reviews at Sundance and the Berlin Film Festival, American Son is an affecting and superbly acted film that draws comparison with the recent Stop-Loss.

Starring top selling US musician and up and coming actor Nick Cannon (Bobby, The Killing Room), Tom Sizemore (Heat, Natural Born Killers), Melonie Diaz (Be Kind Rewind, Guide to Recognising Your Saints) and Matt O’Leary (Sorority Row, Spy Kids 2 & 3).

Mike Holland (Cannon) is nineteen years old and has just completed his basic training as a Private in the United States Marine Corps. On a four-day leave before shipping out to Iraq he goes home to try and reconnect with his family and friends.

He falls deeply in love with a young woman he meets on his trip (Diaz) – but it’s a love made bittersweet by his fear that he will not be coming home again, except in a body bag.

Nick Cannon was critically acclaimed for his on-screen achievement as his lead role performance as a young man experiencing the journey of adolescence through to adulthood. AMERICAN SON was filmed within a 20 day schedule and brings independent film making to its highest levels.

If you are a fan of intense dramas that have your heart pounding with intensity, then this film is definitely one for your collection.
