Starring Tina Fey (Baby Mama, Mean Girls), Alec Baldwin (Beetlejuice, The Hunt For Red October) and Jane Krakowski (Ally McBeal), 30 ROCK chronicles the life of Liz Lemon (Fey), head writer on sketch comedy show TGS with Tracy Jordan.
When her old boss dies, Jack Donaghy (Baldwin) is appointed in his place. His constant attempts to commercialize TGS immediately put him at odds with her.
She also has to battle with the new star of TGS Tracy Jordan (Tracy Morgan - The Longest Yard), a mildly insane, low-brow movie star/comedian who is hired at Jack's insistence, whilst Jenna Maroney (Krakowski), the deposed star of TGS struggles to reclaim her top billing on the show.
Also introducing Kenneth Parcell (Jack McBrayer - Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story) as the young over-eager and effortlessly endearing NBC intern, Pete Hornberger (Scott Adsit) as the show's producer whose marriage is seemingly always on the mend, Frank Rossitano (Judah Friedlander - Zoolander) as childish, sarcastic and quick-witted sardonic slacker on the writing staff and Cerie (Katrina Bowden) as the sexy and attractive receptionist who has no interest in television. Her life's ambition is to be a "young hot mom" and "marry rich and then design handbags."
Liz must try and run a successful TV show without losing her mind, but each day presents new challenges as she attempts to steer the show from one crisis to another whilst struggling with her own personal life.
Other notable guest appearances include Matthew Broderick, Steve Buscemi, Carrie Fisher, Larry King, Conan O'Brien, Whoopi Goldberg, John McEnroe, Maury Povich, Ghostface Killah and Jerry Seinfeld.
