If you have recently started a new job, class or club, and you feel like you fit right in- this is another reason for this dream. Home is somewhere you should always be welcomed and feel you belong- even if you left it years ago.
On the other hand, dreaming about your hometown if your childhood was a miserable one could be mirroring some unpleasantness that you are feeling in your waking hours. Perhaps this reminds you of a time or incident when you were younger or the people who were around you as you grew up.
Someone may have got in touch who you want to forget.
Perhaps something has happened that is all too familiar but in a negative way.
