Many books portray and films show the protagonist typing a novel on a typewriter, so if you were writing a novel, perhaps you have aspirations to be a professional writer. If this is the case, what can you do to move closer to this goal in your waking hours? Or are these just romantic notions that provide no real drive for you?
If you were typing a letter, try to remember who it was to or what it was about.
If the recipient was clear, it’s possible you need to communicate more with someone in your life and the dream is giving you a nudge to make the first move.
If the subject of the letter was mundane, perhaps you need to tick a few to-dos off your list- nothing more.
With that said if it was about something more pressing, move with haste to get this issue resolved.
To type on a typewriter in a dream implies there is a more efficient way to do something.
On the other hand, perhaps you prefer to do things the old fashioned way and the dream is making sure you understand the repercussions of using such archaic methods.
To type could also mean that you are a perfectionist in something in your life at present. You want something to be 100% right because you feel there is no room for error.
Being polished and professional might be a prerequisite for a job you want or a position you crave, so you are placing a lot of importance on appearances. It may be wise to remember that this is only part of the package and not to put too much pressure on this aspect of your presentation.
On the flipside, you may be worried about making a mistake and how it would look to those around you if you were to let your guard down. Do you need to worry less about what others think and accept that you are human and will inevitably make mistakes? Or spend time with people who are more lenient with you?
Perhaps you are so preoccupied with perfection that it is negatively affecting other areas of your life like your relationships.
