To see a fish or several fish swimming in your dreamscape is a glimpse into your unconscious mind.

Pay close attention to the dream as is may be telling you something you have failed to see lately.

Consider the common phrases associated with fish like ‘a fish out of water’ for instance. Are you in unfamiliar and uncomfortable surroundings at present either in your personal or professional life?

Perhaps you see a situation in your waking hours as ‘fishy’. Something doesn’t feel right about it so perhaps you need to trust your gut on this one and take a step back.

Think about the other expression- ‘like a cold fish’- is someone being hard-hearted or unfeeling towards you at present? If so, do you need to make them aware of how this is making you feel? Perhaps you are the person who is showing a lack of emotion towards someone else. If so- why? Is your behaviour driving this person away?

This dream might also refer to someone you believe to be a ‘slippery’ character. It might be wise to keep your distance from this person if you doubt their trustworthiness.

The dream could be referring to a relationship issue you are having. If you have recently come out of a partnership or have been rejected- it could be telling you that there are ‘plenty more fish in the sea’ and not to lose hope.

If you were being attacked by a large fish, it’s possible you are ignoring an important issue in your life. It might be wise to address this before it gets any bigger.

If the large fish was trying to eat you then someone in your life is looking to undermine your talents- be mindful that not everyone has your best interests at heart.

If a smaller fish was attacking a larger one then you shouldn’t underestimate someone in your life. They may not seem to have much of an influence, but appearances can be deceiving.

A fish with legs in a dream suggests that you need to think outside of the box and be willing to go beyond your comfort zone to get something done.

If you were catching fish from a river or lake, it could mean that you will experience some obstacles at work that are created by someone senior to you. If the fish you caught died quickly, or it was already dead in the water, this is thought to be linked to sadness, loneliness and hopelessness. Another thought process is that you are finally bringing your feelings to the surface and have a better understanding of them. However, if you put the fish back in the water after catching them then perhaps you feel uncomfortable that you've opened up to someone lately or don't want to deal with the emotions you have realised. If you caught a fish, this could also mean that you have a firmer grasp on an idea and are now able to move it forward...
