If you don’t smoke in your waking life and you were in a your dream state it may be your subconscious telling you that you have another addiction and need to find a way to stop it taking hold of you.
It could be overeating, alcohol, an addiction to a relationship or person, or an activity. Anything you do too much of or anyone you see too much of could be affecting your health and your happiness.
It’s possible you have recently reverted back to an old habit that was bad for you then and still is. You may need to make a big effort to get out of this routine again as it could have a negative impact on you later down the line if it’s not already.
Smoking a can also be indicative of some sort of rebellion so if you are trying to rebel against something or someone in your waking life, this could be why you dreamed about smoking.
Another interpretation is that you need a break- perhaps you feel like your life has been too intense lately and you need to take some time out from work, someone or something that’s demanding a lot of your time.
If you are against smoking then it’s possible you are doing something that you don’t really believe in or support in your waking life. Your only reason for doing so might be to fit in. It may be time to come clean and speak your mind or simply challenge a view that’s not the same as your own so people can see other viewpoints.
Whether you are a smoker or not- it could just be that you associate smoking with alleviating anxiety if you’re feeling worried or anxious right now. Perhaps you need to find some way of feeling less on edge about something or someone.
If you were smoking with your friends- then perhaps someone in your waking life spends time with you because you pretend to have something in common or vice versa. Maybe the thing that brought you together isn’t enough to sustain your relationship. It may be time to distance yourself from this person if they are a bad influence on you or aren’t really enhancing your life in any way.
