When you dream that you are on a merry go round, it’s often because you have a fear of reliving something from your childhood. This could be something bad that happened to you when you were younger or simply something you believe belongs in the past.
Perhaps you are worried about transitioning into the next phase of your life- something that is typically thought to be an adult thing to do such as getting a job, buying a house, having children or making a commitment to your partner. You are fearful of your new-found responsibility.
It could also be representative of stagnation or a feeling that you’re going nowhere in life- you are just circling around the same point and finding it hard to move on.
More positively- a merry go round could be a symbol of childish joy- it’s possible you need a little more happiness in your waking hours and to be silly when it’s appropriate.
On the other hand, perhaps you are being too childlike in your personal or professional life and it’s not doing you any favours.
If you were stuck on merry go round then you may be in the middle of a situation in your waking life you feel you can’t control. Perhaps you need to let it run its course and then make a move when everything has come to stop.
A merry go round is thought to represent repetition- are you stuck in a rut of doing the same thing day in and day out? Do you need to mix things up a bit to enjoy life some more?
On the flipside- do you need to reiterate or repeat yourself to someone else if they don’t quite understand you?
If the merry go round was full of people having fun- whether you knew them or not- this could be your subconscious telling you to join in rather than sitting on the side-lines watching others have a good time while you’re not.
