To dream about a cat implies that you are an independent person or have an independent spirit.

If this is working well for you- the dream could be telling you to embrace this even more, however if you tend to rely a lot on others- perhaps you need to try being more self-sufficient.

If the cat had no tail, it’s possible you feel you have recently lost your independence and are trying to get it back.

Similarly, if there was a dead cat in your dream, you might feel the same. What can you do to reclaim your sense of freedom?

The cat could be a pun for ‘cattiness’ or refer to someone who is being ‘catty’ during your waking hours. Perhaps you need to create some space between you and this person. Or are you the one who is acting this way towards someone else?

Cats are also thought to represent the feminine- if you were afraid of a cat in your dreamscape, then you might be afraid of the feminine side of yourself. Could you embrace this side of your personality more? Why are you afraid of it?

A cat that is biting you in a dream might suggest that you are leaning too much towards the feminine- you have taken things to the extreme. Perhaps you are driving people away because you have embraced your feminine side too much.

To see cats playing in a dream is indicative of friskiness. It’s possible you need to be more playful if you have taken things to seriously of late.

The dream largely depends on how you feel about cats in your waking life. If you are a cat lover and believe the animal to have positive traits- this might reflect similar traits in you or ones you want to embody.

On the other hand, if you don’t like cats- to see one could represent negative qualities in you that you wish to change. Is your fierce independence driving people away? Do you need to be more sociable? To think of others as well as yourself?
