Terry Alderton’s new comedy show ‘All Crazy Now’ will be at the Pleasance Courtyard Cabaret Bar for the month of August so we caught up with him for a quick Q and A.
Please tell us about your brand of comedy.
Tough to say. An abstract traditional mash up?
What can audiences expect from your new show?
Don’t come expecting straight standup- that it aint. It's more a comedy musical performance that makes no sense. It's different.
Which comedians have been your biggest influence since you decided this was your path?
None, but there are those I admire as to their work, that leads me to think that I’m going up the right path. Steve Martin, Andy Kaufman, Harry Hill.
What random things make you laugh in everyday life?
Being Nasty To Johnny… His reactions are priceless.
Please tell us about your best and worst moment on stage so far.
Best- too many- worst- Invictus Games- huge mistake.
Do you still get nervous when you do a gig?
Yes and no. Yes if I’m performing for someone, and no if I’m performing for me (i.e. theatre show)
Why is Edinburgh Fringe Festival such a great platform for comedians?
I don’t know. Maybe because the business is all in one place. There is honour amongst thieves between us comics so you know you got someone looking out for you… or pulling out the knives from your back HEHEHEHE
Who are you looking forward to seeing at the Fringe?
Not Sure.
What is your advice to aspiring comedians?
Do it…
What is the oddest heckle you've ever received?
Is this comedy, or Horror?
What is next for you?
