In my review the Home Bird DVD last year, I said how much I wanted to see one of Sarah Millican's live shows and last night- my wish finally came true.
Six months ago, my sister in law was persistent enough at 9am with her refresh button to get us tickets on the front row of Sarah's new show Outsider in Warrington.
I have adored every one of Sarah's DVDs and was thrilled to be able to finally see her in the flesh and she did not disappoint.
Sarah was on top form as she talked lovingly about her husband, cats, her rescue dog and her new life in the country. Another step on from where we left her last time when she had just moved out of the city and was cohabiting with her partner.
For those who have enjoyed her previous DVDs there's just as much swearing, rudeness and as many unapologetic personal tales to leave your mouth agape.
There were a few sharp 'intake of breath moments' as the profanities came thick and fast and she talked unashamedly about body parts and functions.
I think the true testament of a comedian's success is how much you talk about their show afterwards and cling onto words of phrases from the performance. I'm not going to give anything away but there's one word in particular you won't forget and in case you do, there's a free badge with said word on as you leave! Periods will never be the same again!
One of the highlights for me was when Sarah read out an email from one of her former bullies. Let's just say that her succinct response was the perfect way to walk away with her head held high.
I can't wait for this to come out on DVD so I can add her newest offering to my collection.
Thanks Sarah for brightening up a cold and wet evening in little old Warrington and for raising the curtain for Christmas for our family.
