Michael McIntyre’s tireless shows have taken Britain by storm as he sweeps the country this year performing in most major towns and cities. His observational humour and astute sense of timing has won audiences over and over. Busting onto our screens with Live and Laughing, followed by Hello Wembley, he is now ubiquitous, appearing on TV shows such as Live at the Apollo, 8 out of 10 Cats, Have I Got News For You, Mock of the Week and of course Britain’s Got Talent.
His humour is one that is based on the simple things in life that can make us laugh, coupled with his sharp delivery, makes everyday tasks ones that we can all find something to smile about. His notorious man drawer, for instance, I am confident has now been renamed in every household in Britain. Despite Hello Wembley being a little more risqué than Live and Laughing, it still had the essence of the first DVD. Using relatable topics and usual annoyances in life, he has us all laughing at our own idiosyncrasies and habits.
I am very envious of my parents who will be seeing him in November in Newcastle. I am sure it will be one of the best comedy performances they have ever seen. I personally can watch his DVDs over and over, he cheers me up every time and am partial to using a quote of his from time to time. His tour has already kicked off, currently in South End on Sea and finishes in December in Wembley Arena.
If you haven’t already had a taste of this comedy sensation, I strongly suggest you grab yourself a ticket. His comedy is one that has a resonance with everyone in some way and one that is gentle and lacks the offensiveness of some other comedians. Similar to the presentation of Jimmy Carr, dressed every show in a suit, speaking confidently in a posh accent and moves around the stage with the same velocity as Lee Evans, he combines all the best aspects of other comedians and puts his own loveable twist on his presentation.
Tickets are on sale now! And his new DVD, Michael McIntyre Live 2012 is ready to pre order at Play.com.
