Vampire Diaries Star, former model, and self confessed Harry Potter lover Nina Dobrev talks candidly about Hollywood life and her aspirations for the future.
Nina Dobrev is famous for kick-starting her career via modelling. But now The Vampire Diaries star admits her dream would be to become a Burberry billboard girl.
Speaking exclusively she states:
“I got to work with Emma Watson last year [on Perks of Being A Wall Flower]. She’s a dream. A sharp, young woman who’s going to have a fantastic career. And such style – I remember seeing her on a Burberry billboard and she looked beautiful. I’ve always dreamed of being a ‘Burberry Girl’, but know it’ll never happen, because I’m not British. Still, you can’t stop a girl from dreaming. And owning way too many Burberry coats!”
On Emma Watson:
Nina admires the the actress as well as admitting to a love of Harry Potter:
“The first time I was in London was four years ago, right before Christmas… I even got to visit the Harry Potter set, which felt magical. I’ve read all the books.”
The future:
In an ideal world - romantic comedies:
“There are so many [roles] I’d really like to sink my teeth into. No pun intended! But I’d really like to do a rom-com. I love comedy.”
On alternative career:
“I was a rhythmic and athletic gymnast for a little while. Then, when I quit gymnastics, I fell in love with yoga. So sometimes I think I’d like to open up a yoga studio.”
Hollywood lifestyle:
“It’s exciting because it’s so sunny and beautiful there, but at the same time there’s something a bit distant about Los Angeles. It’s hard to make good friends. Everyone’s in their car, with their sunglasses on, and disconnected. But Hollywood is work – then Venice by the beach is play.”
On Social Media:
Nina’s a huge advocate of social media and loves how it enables her to feel closer to her fans:
“I think it’s amazing that there’s this new media that allows you to be more connected with the people that support you. Without their support I couldn’t exist.”
