It sold a staggering 313,000 copies on the first day and made it as the Christmas number one.Now after releasing five singles, Shayne Ward is releasing his new album, Breathless, on November 26, and is really looking forward to it.In your blog on your website you’d rather give people a taste of your personality in your music. How does Breathless reflect your personality?
“Breathless reflects my personality because people have seen the kind of emotional side of the ballad that I sang before, but they get to see a deeper side to it because the song is a deeper song, its one of the best songs I have heard in a long, long time, I’ve said it to everyone, it is, it was written for me when you listen to the lyrics they are just so special. It’s just a beautiful song so I think people get to see a deeper side to me.”How involved were you with writing your new album?
“Oh very involved in deed, I was writing a lot of the songs for the album, and there are so many songs that we written together and we decided to use them for future things. It was great that I could follow the second album basically.”Have you got a favourite song on your new album?
“Not yet I think it’s too early to decide.”You have been travelling quite a lot promoting your music, where was your favourite place, and where did you get the best response from?
“It was great, the experience of China, Hong Kong, Malaysia but I think to me it was South Africa that really stood out. That was amazing just to go there, I did a couple of concerts up there and it was brilliant, I mean the reaction I got when I was singing the songs, considering it was someone else’s country was brilliant, so I think South Africa really stood out for me.”Would you say the lyrics in “no you hang up” represent your relationship with Faye?
“Well I think who hasn’t done that in the early stages of a relationship “yeah” of course”

In August 2006 you suffered from vocal cord nodules, how badly did this affect your singing?
“Very bad, very bad indeed it was a scary moment and to be honest I just hope I don’t go through it again but it’s the commonest thing these days and it could of basically put a stop to my career, but I’m lucky that once I had, had the operation even though it was 50/50 that I might not have got y voice back and it did so I’m one of the lucky ones really.” Femalefirst - Heather Cowley
