The 'Guardians of the Galaxy' actress - who is believed to be pregnant with twins - and Italian spouse Marco Perego want their kids to learn the same things she did as a child, but admits she will have to make a "conscious effort" to use Spanish more often as her own language skills have slipped as she has gotten older.
Zoe - whose father is from the Dominican Republic and mother is Costa Rican - said: "Of course [our children] will speak the languages that we speak; my sisters and I grew up learning French and speaking English and Spanish, and because of that, we're able to understand Italian and Portuguese. But I'm going to have to make a conscious effort to speak Spanish to my children, because I speak Spanglish."
The 36-year-old beauty - who married Marco in June 2013 - admits her Latina heritage is very important to her and she doesn't think raising a family will change her "passionate" ways.
She told Cosmopolitan for Latinas magazine: "It's one of the biggest factors about me: the fire, the passion, the 'in your face' quality.
"I'm not going to say, 'Whatever you want, whatever you say.' I'll say, 'You know what I think? I feel this.' "
While she is now happily settled with Marco, the 'Avatar' star - who previously dated Bradley Cooper - says she was never interested in guys who "worshipped" her.
Asked what she looked for in a guy, she said: "A man who has a natural respect for women - I don't want a man who worships me: Stay away from those.
"Worshipping doesn't count as really seeing me. I like men who work with women, are challenged by women, learn from women."
