Zoe Saldana kept her marriage a secret for her "sanity".
The 'Star Trek Into Darkness' star tied the knot with her Italian beau Marco Perego during a ceremony in June, but only confirmed the nuptials six months later because she wanted to "protect" her personal life.
Speaking to Ocean Drive Magazine, she said: "I love what I do so much, but I love my [personal] life more. I realised through the years of being in this business that the only way to maintain some kind of sanity is to protect that which is most dear to you, which is your life and everyone that's in it."
The 35-year-old actress - who previously dated Bradley Cooper for more than a year - recently admitted that her low-key wedding was extra special because she'd got married in London.
Zoe - who was born and raised in Passaic, New Jersey - said: "I got married in England. I did it in England. Can you top that?"
Rumours first began circulating in September that Zoe had married her artist boyfriend, whom she had been friends with for years, over the summer.
The couple only went public with their romance in May but they aroused suspicions that they had wed on a night out in the English capital when it looked like they were trying to hide wedding bands from the paparazzi.
A source previously said their wedding "was super small but very romantic and beautiful".
