Zayn Malik has removed One Direction from his Twitter page.
The 22-year-old singer quit the group in March and has now had his handle on the social networking website changed from @ZaynMalik1D to @ZaynMalik and removed his brief biography entirely.
Since making the changes, Zayn has posted just one cryptic tweet.
He wrote: "Is speech an extension to our thoughts or an image that we like to create x (sic)"
The move devastated One Direction fans, who quickly began posting with the hashtag #YouWillAlwaysBeZaynMalik1D.
One wrote: "Okay I'm even more sad than before #YouWillAlwaysBeZaynMalik1D (sic)"
Another added: "March 25th: Zayn Malik physically left One Direction
"April 30th: Zayn Malik mentally left One Direction (sic)"
After quitting the group, the hunky star remained silent on social media until 20 April, when he thanked those close to him for their loyal support.
He wrote: "Wanna say thanks to everyone that's been there for me over the last few weeks, love you all.. you know who you are x. The x is a kiss by the way ha it's not a mystery .. sorry to any confused .... (sic)"
This post was the first the 'One Thing' singer wrote since 18 March, when he tweeted about the cheating rumours that emerged after a picture surfaced of him holding hands with a girl while on tour in Thailand.
Dismissing the claims that he had cheated on his fiancee, Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards, he wrote: "I'm 22 years old... I love a girl named Perrie Edwards. And there's a lot of jealous f**** in this world I'm sorry for what it looks like x."
