Zayn Malik will release his debut solo single on Friday (29.01.16).
The 23-year-old singer announced on Twitter today (24.01.16) that 'Pillowtalk', his first official release since leaving One Direction last March, will be on sale later this week.
He made the announcement by posting a black and white shirtless picture of himself, with the track and release date, together with his first name only, written in bold white type over the top.
Though he hasn't told fans what to expect from the track, it is likely to be very different to his work with One Direction as he recently admitted he never felt their music was true to his own tastes.
He said: "To be honest, I mentally and physically distanced myself from what I was doing creatively because I didn't want any part of it really. It didn't feel like I was really being me."
But the hunky has been relishing every second in the studio while working on his solo material.
He said: "Now that I can really be myself and make music that feels honest to me, it doesn't feel like work. It really is relaxing to me."
Asked if there'll be any collaborations on the record, he added: "I just want this album to be about me and me standing on my own two feet. I've sung with four other voices for over four years now so I want to hear myself, alone for once".
