Zayn Malik can ask Bradley Walsh for singing tips "anytime".
The 56-year-old TV presenter's debut LP 'Chasing Dreams' beat the former One Direction star's record sales for his first solo album 'Pillow Talk' last year and said he'd happily give the younger star a few pointers if asked.
Laughing as he chatted to press at the 2017 Brit Awards held in London's 02 Arena on Wednesday (22.02.17) Bradley joked: "I haven't seen Zayn yet but I don't want him to be too upset, you know, it's tough for these young artists.
"You know these young artists come along and they see an old stage entertainer whose played Watford Trades and Labour Club many times, it's very difficult for the youngsters to have any grounding and breeding in the industry. So yeah, if he wants any tips on how to sing a tune..."
Meanwhile, Zayn's former 1D bandmate Niall Horan and ex-manager Simon Cowell "enjoyed" Bradley selling more albums than Zayn last year and his record being the only one to reach gold status, having shifted more than 100,000 copies.
Bradley revealed: "I just laughed when I found out.
"I thought it was hysterical. I am probably the oldest new artist Sony has ever signed.
"Niall Horan was sending me messages, laughing his head off. And I got big congratulations from Simon Cowell. He thoroughly enjoyed it."
The 'Chase' presenter believes his success stems from being an all-round entertainer and worries new artists try too hard to be cool rather than create catchy songs.
He said previously: "It's just about being an entertainer; it's about having all those tools over the years to do all sorts: films, musicals, playing a bit of piano, running a quiz show - it just becomes part of the job.
"I like something you can hum along to. I think new artists sometimes miss the point ... I can't listen to rap music, it's not my thing. They say that they're the modern poets: of course they are, but it's not for me."
