The 51-year-old television personality announced earlier this week that she was separating from the 66-year-old musician after four years of marriage and insists she is taking it "one day at a time".

Speaking to reporters at the season six premiere of 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills', she said: "I keep going, one foot in front of the other. Obviously, this is a difficult time and I'm heartbroken.

"I hope to be moving forward to a brighter future and I'm just trying to get through it one day at a time."

When asked what was helping her through the difficult time, she credited her three children for keeping things as constant as possible.

She added to PEOPLE magazine: "My Gigi, my Bella and my Anwar. My forever. I guess that's my only forever."

Meanwhile, Yolanda previously took to Twitter to ask for people's understanding following the split and urged people not to judge the former couple after what had happened.

She wrote: "We've grown apart... But my love & respect for @officialdfoster is still the same, he's been very good 2 me so pls don't judge our journey! (sic)."
