The 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star - who recently filed for divorce from her second husband David Foster - chose to go back to her first married surname after a discussion with her three children, Gigi, 20, Bella, 19, and Anwar, 16.

Speaking about her decision on Watch What Happens Live!, she said: "I talked about it with my kids. I never dropped the name Hadid because I have three children by that last name and I asked the kids, 'Should i go back to van den Herik?' and they said, 'No. You're our mommy and we have the same last name.'"

Meanwhile, the 52-year-old television personality previously claimed her Lyme Disease diagnosis changed the "dynamic" of her and David's relationship.

She said: "We had a beautiful love story that I will treasure forever. Unfortunately, it was not strong enough to withstand the circumstances that came our way.

"Chronic, long-term illness is extremely challenging. Not only for the person sick but also for the caregiver. It for sure changed the dynamic of the relationship.

"The truth is that we both worked through the difficult time through the best of our ability, so rather than judging what went wrong, I pick to remember the great times that we shared the last nine years. There was a wealth of good times."
