Vanessa Hudgens and her boyfriend are reportedly being investigated for allegedly defacing a rock in Arizona.
According to gossip website TMZ, the Red Rock Ranger District of the Coconino National Forest is checking to see whether a rock the 27-year-old beauty and her significant other Austin Butler carved their names into is in the forest.
The couple posted a picture on Instagram of their names carved into a red rock after spending Valentine's Day weekend in Sedona, Arizona, and it is thought the rock in question could be from the area.
The gossip website reports there is a federal law which forbids anyone from "damaging natural surfaces or property of the United States".
If found guilty of such a crime the maximum punishment is six months in prison and/or a $5,000 fine.
Vanessa and Austin seemed to have fun in the forest as she posted several pictures on the pair on her Instagram account, complete with the caption "sedonadreams".
It was a tough start to the year for Vanessa as she informed fans last month that her father, Greg Hudgens, had died of cancer.
She posted: "I am so sad to say that last night my daddy, Greg passed away from stage 4 cancer. Thank you to everyone who kept him in your prayers.
"Tonight, I do the show in his honor (sic)"
