Vanessa Hudgens likes to take a break from technology.
The 'Spring Breakers' star has lasted five days without checking her phone, and she insisted people need to learn to embrace life without being slaves to their phones.
She told the October issue of Marie Claire magazine: "If you're always worried about being on your phone, then you really are missing out on everything that's happening in front of you."
The 24-year-old actress also offered optimistic advise as she claimed people should not worry about anything "except the present", taking each day as it comes.
She added: "Nothing is real except the present. If you're worrying about the future, it's completely irrelevant because it hasn't happened yet. And the past - there's no need to dwell on that, either."
However, Vanessa was still able to reflect on her childhood, when he parents "struggled" to make ends meet as they worked as hard as they could to help their daughter achieve her dreams of being an actress.
She said: "Money was a big thing. My parents drove me up to L.A., which cost a lot because of gas, and took out loans so that we could move from location to location to be close to L.A.
"The family definitely struggled ... They were very supportive of me. They gave up a lot so that I could get to where I am."
