Tyler Posey has been sober for more than two months.
The 29-year-old actor has learned to "love" himself again after quitting both alcohol and smoking marijuana after going through a "rough patch".
Speaking on SiriusXM's 'The Jason Ellis Show' last week, he said: "I'm sober now. I'm 71 days sober...
"I kind of fell out with everybody that I love and that I know. I became kind of a recluse.
"But now, I f******, I love myself for the first time in forever. Things are really, really, really, really good."
The 'Teen Wolf' actor began experimenting with drugs as a young teenager which gradually "developed an addict routine" over time and he admitted he had never felt "proud" of himself.
He said: "My drug and abusing was restricted to my home and by myself.
"I was one of those lonely, self-deprecating addicts and alcoholics.
"I wasn't proud of myself anymore — and had I ever really been. Now I'm starting to get my s*** together and it feels really, really, good. I just didn't want to do that anymore."
The 'Truth or Dare' actor also opened up about his decision to speak openly about his sexuality, having shared an Instagram story in August about how he had "been with transwomen before", and explained he felt "compelled" to speak out to normalise open discussions about the subject.
He said: ""I know there are a lot of kids that look up to me and I just want to f****** get rid of that stigma.
"You can be whoever you want to be, get with whoever you want to get with and it doesn't affect you and it doesn't affect them.
"The world is f****** weird and it should be. There's too much stigma on everything, and sexuality, especially.
"I really didn't have a plan for saying that s***, I just felt compelled."
