Trey Songz has tested positive for COVID-19.
The 35-year-old rapper - who has 17-month-old son Noah - took to Instagram to explain that he has had regular tests for the potentially-deadly respiratory virus as he's been out protesting on the streets and his priority is to keep his newborn tot safe.
The 'Can't Help But Wait' hitmaker is now self-quarantining and won't be coming out of self-isolation until he tests negative.
In a video message to his 12.2 million followers, Trey said: “Here with a very important message to let you know I tested positive for COVID-19.
“I’ve taken many tests as I’ve been out protesting, food drives, of course I have a very young son at home, so I get tested periodically and this time it unfortunately came back positive.
“I will be taking it seriously.
“I will be self-quarantining, I will be in my house until I see a negative sign."
Trey is calling on his followers to take the virus seriously and criticised President Donald Trump, who tested positive along with his wife, Melania Trump, last week, and was later hospitalised.
He added: “If you come in contact with COVID, please do say. Please do say. Don’t be like the president.”
The American star - who believes his grandfather may have died from coronavirus earlier this year - also reminded everyone of the importance of wearing a face mask and washing their hands to help stop the spread of COVID.
The musician added in the caption: "Down but not out! Stay safe y'all! Wear your mask. Wash your hands."
