Tori Spelling was hospitalised for an ulcer and migraines.
The 'True Tori' star spent at least six days at a medical facility in Los Angeles last week after reportedly failing to keep any food down and suffering from severe headaches.
A source told RadarOnline.com: "Tori's head hurt so much, she couldn't have any light in her bedroom and she couldn't keep any food down from the ulcer. She was in a great deal of pain and was very scared."
Friends believe Tori's health scare stems from extreme stress brought on by her husband Dean McDermott's confession to infidelity late-last year.
The source explained: "She was just so run-down and ragged from the affair fallout."
However, despite airing her marital breakdown on her lifetime reality show, the 40-year-old actress asked for the cameras to stop rolling during her hospital stint.
The source added: "For Tori, nothing is off-limits to the cameras. But production was not allowed to follow Tori into the hospital. She needed peace and quiet with no pressure."
Tori - who has children Liam, seven, Stella, five, Hattie, two, and Finn, 20 months, with Dean - was discharged from an undisclosed clinic on Saturday (26.04.14), but kept her pink hospital band on her wrist as she headed home.
It is believed Dean was by Tori's side throughout the duration of her stay in hospital.
A source said previously: "Dean would arrive by 10am and didn't leave until 8 most nights. He seemed very stressed out and worried."
