Tom Hanks gave an "amazing toast" at his close friend's wedding.
The 57-year-old actor was among the small number of guests at his former 'Bosom Buddies' co-star Peter Scolari's wedding to Broadway star Tracy Shayne, and he helped to make their nuptials even more special.
Peter, who also starred in the Broadway production of 'Lucky Guy' alongside the Oscar-winner, told UsMagazine.com: "Everyone in the cast gave so many amazing toasts. I honestly wasn't prepared for that to happen, but it was really all very sweet."
He added: "It may sound cliché, but there is no surprise that Tom's toast was full of the nicest things that anyone's ever said. I thought it was going to be something of a roast but it wasn't that at all. I sent him a note a few weeks after saying I'm not sure how I'd be able to repay that."
The 58-year-old actor, who plays the father of Lena Dunham's character on 'Girls', and Tracy, tied the knot on June 21 during a break from 'Lucky Guy' in a friend's New York City apartment.
He said: "The reality of getting married, it really changed things into something beautiful. There was transformation."
