The 35-year-old music star has revealed he'd love to record a duet with the author, saying he's keen to "find something that excites us both".

Tom - who stars in McFly - shared: "The band has always been my priority. But we love singing with each other. We’ve done YouTube videos before for fun, so who knows?

"We have talked about duetting before. It’s just time. We’d have to find something that excites us both."

Tom and Giovanna, 35, have been together since meeting in theatre school when they were just 13.

And now, he's suggested the time has come for them to actually record a song together.

He told The Sun on Sunday newspaper's Biz on Sunday column: "Gi and I have grown up singing together - music is a big part of our lives. We’re always singing when we’re at home with the kids."

Tom has Buzz, six, Buddy, four, and Max, two, with Giovanna, and he previously explained how becoming a dad for the first time changed his life.

He shared: "I met my wife at school when I was 13. We’d been dating since before McFly, so she has been with me - keeping me on my toes - through the whole rollercoaster.

"The arrival of Buzz had a major impact on my mental health. Depression and anxiety runs in the family. Both my parents have had moments with it.

"For years, I couldn’t sleep. I can’t say it without laughing now, but whenever I got into bed my mind would go off on these crazy stories about aliens and I would terrify myself - even in my 20s.

"Then I saw Stephen Fry on TV talking about being bipolar and he was describing my life. I cried. And that week I went to get help."
