TikTok star Beavo has blasted social media as a ‘cess pit’ after trolls spread the rumour he had died – while gorging on a pork chop

The influencer, 22, who has made millions from his online content, was this week hit by a death hoax after keyboard warriors said he had choked on the food he uses in his eating challenge videos.

He said about having to call and tell his family he was alive and well after the bogus news spread like wildfire online this week: “I make about £22,000 a month from my content, but social media is just a cess pit.

“My eating videos have made me really popular, but trolls used them to say I’d died by choking on a pork chop. It was just bizarre to see news you had died spread online.

“My family spotted it before I could tell them and I had to call them to say I was OK.”

Beavo has taken a guest spot on a new podcast launching this week to tell of his shock over the hoax – and give advice to listeners on how to turn their content into cash.

He’ll appear on UK influencer management firm the Rebel Agency’s new show Rebel Devils, which aims to give “deep dives” into the lives of the Internet’s edgiest content creators.

Fake news about Beavo – real name Brandon Beavis – passing away started trending under the ‘Beavo dead’ hashtag,

He has became one of the most talked-about viral figures online since 2023, and since he started posting videos he has amassed a huge following on TikTok.

As of February 2024, he has racked up more than 1.3K followers, and over 25.6M likes.

He is also popular on Instagram where he gives his 178k followers a further glimpse into his life and latest projects.

His eating videos often show him gorging on meals without chewing his food, saying in one clip: “Apparently, I don’t chew enough, but I don’t need to chew.

“No chew needed, you don’t need to chew your food!”

His TikTok is plastered with videos of him eating mostly junk food, like pizza topped with fries, burgers, and takeaways.

In December 2023, the social media star was accused of promoting dangerous eating habits.

A video stating he had died was posted by user @Yd1, and saw Beavo struggle to chew his food.

Over the clip, it had the caption: “RIP Beavo.”

The video went viral and as of February 26 had more than 340,200 views.

The Rebel Devils podcast Beavo will appear on this week aims to feature “rebels of every variety” and celebrate its guests’ “inner dark side”.

Digital entrepreneur Jordan Smith, 29, CEO of the Rebel Agency – which has helped make millions for its influencer and celebrity clients including former Love Island contestants – said: “The Rebel Devils Podcast will be a deep dive into the inner devil of all its guests – all of whom have escaped the rat-race and are doing what they love.

“We’re going to get the heart of their rebellious streaks and it will feature them revealing the most rebellious, devilish things they’ve done, their darkest secrets and naughtiest opinions.

“It is going to be a celebration of getting in touch with your inner devil and it’s going to a lot of fun as people seem to have stopped celebrating that sort of thing these days.

“Finding your inner rebel is what has made a lot of our guests and clients millions of pounds. The podcast is going to reveal what works best online, their marketing secrets and how anyone who has enough of a rebel inside them can escape the 9–5 drudgery so you can make millions from content.”

Rebel’s clients include scores of social media’s highest earners, and

has steered many of its clients from having virtually zero subscribers to becoming part of the top 1 per cent of online creators.

Jordan added: “Our clients have had their lives changed, as their content creation makes them six – and seven – figure annual salaries.

“Most have bought their own properties in their early 20s.”

Rebel Agency also recently launched the Rebel Mansion – a content hub in the English countryside that is set up as a “one stop shop” for content creators to produce photos and video while partying together.

Jordan added: “Our Rebel Mansion was inspired by the Playboy Mansion, and is kitted out with top-level content creation gear and is somewhere all our clients can come together as a community.”

The Rebel Devils podcast will be available on all platforms including YouTube from next week.
