The 54-year-old actor is dismayed by the obsession with technology in modern society and was left dumbfounded when he met American President Barack Obama and watched everyone else who shook the leader's hand filming their meeting on smart device.

Speaking at the 'Tomorrowland' press conference in London on Monday (18.05.15), Clooney said: "I was at an event with the president a few years ago and everyone was shaking hands with their phones filming him, they can't say they met the president, they can only say they filmed him.

"You see the concerts down too and people are losing a little bit of their living and their life because they are just stood filming the concert rather than enjoying it. I hope would hope we would become a little bit less in love with technology. Bring back face to face conversations, my vision for the future is bringing back letter writing."

Although Clooney is unhappy with modern technology, one thing the Hollywood hunk is definitely happy with is his marriage.

Clooney tied the knot with human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, 37, last September and ever since she became his wife he has felt very "lucky".

He said: "I have a wife and I'm a very lucky man to have met someone as special as her so I'm very happy right now.

"I'm an optimistic person and I've had a very lucky life - I've been able to do a lot of things that I never would have imagined I'd be able to. It's a very good time of my life right now, I am having a wonderful time."

New Disney movie 'Tomorrowland' also stars Hugh Laurie, Britt Robertson and Raffey Cassidy and the movie is scheduled for worldwide release on May 22.
