Sylvester Stallone has had a "memorable" year.

The 69-year-old actor is in the running for Best Supporting Actor at tonight's (28.02.16) Academy Awards for his role in 'Creed' - in which he reprised his role as Rocky Bilboa - and, after already winning a string of accolades including Golden Globe and Critic's Choice awards, he admits he'll never forget the past 12 months.
Alongside a picture of himself red carpet ready for the event, he posted on Instagram: "On my way to the Oscars... It's been a most memorable year."
While Stallone - who last enjoyed Academy Award success in 1977 - has been excited about attending the ceremony, he recently revealed he had offered to boycott the event.
The actor told his 'Creed' director Ryan Coogler he would opt not to attend in support of the filmmaker and his co-star Michael B. Jordan, who were surprise omissions from the nominations list, if he preferred him not to go.
Discussing the #OscarsSoWhite controversy surrounding the lack of diversity in the nominations, he said: "I remember I spoke with Ryan Coogler when this [#OscarsSoWhite controversy] happened.
" I said, 'Ryan, how do you want to handle this? Because I really believe you are responsible for me being here.'
"I said, 'If you want me to go, I'll go. If you don't, I won't.'
"He said, 'No, I want you to go.' That's the kind of guy he is. He wants us to go and represent the film."
