Susan Sarandon thinks "the munchies" are "the only downside" of smoking marijuana.
The Oscar-winning actress, who previously claimed that she got "stoned" before attending most award shows, always gets very hungry after getting high and admits she doesn't "handle" it well.
The 67-year-old star said: "The only downside I can think of with weed is the munchies. And I don't handle them, I munch."
The 'Last of Robin Hood' star insists she was exaggerating when she stated in December that she used marijuana before "almost all" red carpets events.
She said: "That whole thing of going stoned to every awards show, I wish that could have been possible, but no, that was an exaggeration."
But the 'Stepmom' star then told PEOPLE.com: "Awards show are four hours long. So by the time you even get through the red carpet, unfortunately, you're not high anymore. But your blood sugar drops and they would do very well to pass out munchies. I remember one time sitting in front of Seal at a very long show and he was passing out little snacks, which was very helpful."
The mother-of-three, who split from Tim Robbins in 2009 after 23 years together and has since found love again with 36-year-old entrepreneur Jonathan Bricklin, has been nominated for an Oscar five times and also received eight Golden Globes and four Emmy nominations over the course of her 44-year career.
