Spencer Matthews insists he doesn't have a drug problem.
The 'Made in Chelsea' star was kicked off 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' in November after it emerged he was taking a "steroid-based medication" but, despite rumours, he didn't subsequently enter rehab and had no "withdrawal symptoms" or need to detox when he came off the pills.
He said: "My family heard about it before they were able to talk to me, so my mum was like, 'We'll get you help' and I was like, 'Mum I don't have a problem'. I was only taking those pills for two weeks... The moment they confiscated them, I was off them and haven't seen them since.
"I haven't had any withdrawal symptoms nor have I detoxed. It wasn't necessary.
"The backlash was unexpected. I do find it irritating when people ask if I was addicted and if I went to rehab."
Spencer took the pills out of "vanity" and didn't realise the risks until afterwards.
He told heat magazine "I knew what they were but I just didn't see them as an illegal danger to my health. For me it was just a pill that would make me look good in the gym - it was a vanity thing. I didn't think I was cheating in any way and now I feel stupid. I've now looked into the dangers of using steroids and I'm really happy that didn't happen to me."
