Sofia Vergara is claiming she is 'kind of single - despite dating the same man for more than a year

In an October 13 interview with Us Weekly, the 'Modern Family' star gave a confusing update on her relationship status, and then days later, on October 20, she was seen out with her beau again.

When discussing New York being a great city for dating, she told the outlet: "Totally. Actually, I was talking yesterday about it because now I’m single so … kind of single. [Laughs.] Anyways."

In August, the 52-year-old actress admitted she was "enjoying life" with Justin.

She told 'Entertainment Tonight': "I'm enjoying life, I'm so grateful to the people around me."

Sofia previously claimed that she can't be too "picky" about who she dates.

The 'Griselda' star - who split from husband Joe Manganiello in 2023 - revealed that she was open-minded about who she dates.

Sofia told PEOPLE: "I mean, it’s already hard for a 50-something-year-old woman to find someone. I’m not going to be now picky about, 'Oh, he can only be a doctor. Oh, he can only be an astronaut.' No, I mean, I’m not that picky."

I said, ‘If you're done with kids, then I understand. Just tell me, and I'll know what this is, and that's okay.’ But that wasn't the case with her. And I swore to her that I would never leave if it didn't work out. And I didn't.

"That wasn't inevitably why everything ended. It's because two people grew apart, and sometimes that happens."

Sofia - who has Manolo, 33, with her first husband Joe Gonzalez - had told Spanish publication El Pais: “My marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids and I didn’t want to be an old mom.

"I feel it’s not fair to the baby. I respect whoever does it, but that’s not for me anymore.

"I had a son at 19, who is now 32, and I’m ready to be a grandmother, not a mother. So, if love comes along, he has to come with [his own] children. I'm also in menopause - it's the natural way of thi
