There’s been a lot going on in the past 24 hours, including some sad news in regards to Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler and, Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle. We delve into those stories and more, in today’s Social Buzz.
Steven Tyler enters rehab
Aerosmith have cancelled part of their upcoming Las Vegas residency, after lead singer Steven Tyler checked into rehab voluntarily after a relapse which saw him taking pain medication for foot surgery.
The group's social media said: "Thank you for your understanding and for your support for Steven during this time," whilst saying they were "truly sorry" to their fans who would now be able to seek out a refund for the cancelled dates.
Thomas Markle suffers a stroke
Thomas Markle's plans to fly to the UK for Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee have been put on hold, as the 77-year-old was rushed to the hospital after suffering from a stroke. Markle's friend, Karl Larsen, told the PA news agency that he had been admitted and now reports suggest that the estranged father of Meghan Markle cannot currently speak.
Many have been left wondering exactly why Thomas goes to the press every time he wants to say something negative about his daughter. He hasn’t been quiet when it comes to his personal thoughts and feelings about her relationship with Prince Harry and, how the pair have split from the Royal Family to seek out a more private life in the United States.
Their relationship is one that has been on the rocks for many years and so, there’s no news on exactly whether or not Meghan will be visiting her father following this recent development with his health.
Richard Madeley angers Good Morning Britain viewers
Richard Madeley joined Susanna Reid to host Good Morning Britain this morning (May 25th, 2022), but left audiences fuming once more following his rude attempts at joking around with Laura Tobin, who was reporting on the weather.
Speaking to his colleague, he remarked: "I have to say there was an amazing sunrise driving in this morning, it was a really really bright bright bright red. Is that old saying sunrise in morning, shepherd's warning true?"
Tobin replied: "It's actually true because the sun is rising in the south east and it basically is reflecting off the clouds that are coming in. So if clouds are coming in, it would rain later." Madeley then told Tobin that she wasn’t needed.
A cheap jibe and, one that some people watching didn’t appreciate!
