Michael Owen comments on daughter joining Love Island
Gemma Rose Owen was announced as part of the initial lineup for this year’s Love Island and now, her famous family member has spoken about her inclusion.
Speaking with ITV News, Gemma's father, former professional footballer Michael Owen, said: "I have no doubts that she will make us all proud. It's probably a father's worst nightmare, but whatever she wants to do you've got to be supportive."
He added: "It's been different without her in the house. I've got other kids and my wife and it's been quite tough because she's had to switch her phone off and we've had no contact for a couple of weeks so that's been the hard bit."
Love Island starts Monday June 6th on ITV2, starting at 9pm and finishing at 10.35pm.
Billie Eilish splits from boyfriend
Billie Eilish and Matthew Tyler Vorce have called time on their relationship, but the latter has slammed rumours that cheating was the reason behind the two going their separate ways.
Taking to his Instagram Story, Vorce wrote: "Nobody cheated on anyone. Relationships end. Simple as that." He had also written that "creating rumours and LYING on the internet is dangerous."
He continued: "The fact that thousands of people take time out of their day to write the most heinous things on someone they will never know is the most cowardly thing you can do. Live your own life."
Reason revealed for Matthew Morrison firing
The real reason behind Matthew Morrison's sudden firing from So You Think You Can Dance has been reported, with the former Glee star accused of sending inappropriate texts to one of the female contestants taking part.
An insider told PEOPLE: "They didn't have sex, but he reached out to her through flirty direct messages on social media. She felt uncomfortable with his line of comments and went to producers, who then got Fox involved. He was fired after they did their own investigation."
The source added that the messages “crossed the line”, but the two never met up.
Jimmy Carr’s father calls for comic to be stripped of award
Jimmy Carr has had an estranged relationship with his father for some time, and now the latter, Jim Carr, has said that comments made by his comic son "crossed the line".
With Jimmy being awarded a Certificate of Irish Heritage award in 2013, hailing "descendants of previous generations of Irish citizens in an official way", his father now thinks he should be stripped of the accolade.
Having made jokes about Limerick in his 2021 book Before & Laughter, Jim Carr said his offspring is a "shock jock", adding: "He's one sick comedian... literally and metaphorically."
