Simon Cowell wants to listen more and forgive faster in 2014.
The music mogul - who is expecting a baby boy next month with his girlfriend New York socialite Lauren Silverman - is determined to be a better person this year and took to Twitter this morning (10.01.14) to reveal his New Year resolutions.
He wrote "My new year resolutions. Advise not lecture. Listen more than you talk. Happiness is more fun than anger. Forgive and not fester.
"Always be kind to kids and animals. Your mum is mostly right. And never dread Mondays. And most people younger than you know more than you. (sic)"
Meanwhile, the 54-year-old star - who reportedly wants to name his son Simon - is determined to get his smoking addiction under control and is adamant he won't light a cigarette in front of his child.
Asked by if he'll smoke in front of his offspring, he said previously: "No, I won't do that, I've learnt that.
"I'm trying to do electronic cigarettes, they're not bad. But moderation would be better."
However, the 'X Factor' boss had previously insisted he wouldn't kick the habit for good, but he has been looking at ways to make his home baby-proof by installing a "smoking room".
He said: "There are a lot of boring things that happen when you have a baby.
"You have to get rid of sharp edges, cigarettes, alcohol ... then there's the toilet to make safe. But I'll have a smoking room!"
