Simon Cowell has been very impressed with the attitude of the four remaining members of One Direction - Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson - since Zayn Malik quit the group last month.
The 55-year-old music mogul is delighted the remaining members - Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson - decided to continue as a foursome after Zayn walked away from the boy band last month and thinks their live shows since have proved they will be a success.
In an interview with BBC Radio 1, Simon said: "As long as the boys want it - and I think they do - they'll carry on being as successful as ever. Interestingly, with the guys, within days, once they got over the shock they were united, strong. They put on some incredible shows afterwards. The future's bright, I think."
The TV star - who created 1D on his talent show 'The X Factor' - isn't upset with Zayn for wanting to leave the group because he accepts it was the right thing for him to do.
Simon is going to be working with Zayn when he launches his solo career and he predicts the hunk - who is engaged to Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards - will do well on his own.
Simon explained: "Zayn will have a great career ... Look, it did come as a bit of a shock, but I had to look after him and I had to look after the boys and, you know, if somebody doesn't want to do something, you shouldn't make them do it."
