Simon Cowell is madly in love with Lauren Silverman.
The 'X Factor' boss is overjoyed that his girlfriend is expecting their first child in February, believed to be a baby boy, and is glad he dealt with her recent messy divorce like a man.
The 53-year-old British star told People magazine in Los Angeles: "I love her and I love the fact that I'm having this baby."
Simon admits that he was surprised when Lauren, 36, told him that she was pregnant but is glad they are moving forward together.
He said: "I didn't think it was going to happen. But you have to deal with it as a man: Let it happen naturally.
"I am the happiest now than I have been for a long time."
Lauren recently reached a divorce settlement with her ex-husband Andrew Silverman, who filed for divorce after learning of her affair with Simon, which allegedly began four years ago, and will share joint custody of their son, Adam, seven.
Simon and Lauren went public with their relationship when she flew to the south of France to enjoy a babymoon with him after her divorce was finalised last month and the couple are now very happy together.
He said: "That's all been settled now."
Simon recently hinted he is thinking about marrying Lauren in the future.
He said: "I'm not ruling anything out in the future. If you asked me a year ago, at my age am I going to have a baby, I probably would have said 'no' so you've just got to take each day as it comes now.
"Whatever feels right you should do."
