Ed Sheeran plans to dress as a "giant horse" to walk out on the pitch with his beloved Ipswich Town.
The 30-year-old singer has signed a one-year deal to sponsor the shirts for the men's and women's sides and he's planning to take up a clause in the agreement to take up the guise of the League One UK football team's club mascot, Bluey.
He told Australia's 'Ash London Live' radio show: “I’m over the moon about it. It says that the sponsor can turn up as the team mascot, dress up as a giant horse and walk on to the pitch. So I’m definitely going to take them up on that.”
While Ed is happy to sponsor the team and is pleased with the positive response the news received, he suggested he's not interested in taking things further and buying the club as it may not be the best financial decision.
Speaking to James Corden on 'The Late Late Show' about the possibility of buying the club, he said: "Ipswich aren't, like, a top flight team – they hopefully soon will be – but they are not a top flight team.
"So I didn't really expect anyone to notice it, but because of all the European Super League stuff in England and the huge backlash against big rich owners controlling teams and doing things fans weren't keen of, this story came out at the same time.
"The amount of love I've got from English football fans has been wonderful."
Meanwhile, the 'Bad Habits' singer has insisted he's a hands-on father to his and wife Cherry's 10-month-old daughter Lyra and he wouldn't have it any other way.
He said: “If you want to have kids, regardless of your fame and regardless of you have the means to have help, if you want to be a father, you’ll be a father, if you want to have a kid to have a kid and go back to work then you’ll do that.
“I’ve always wanted to be a dad so I’m not going to hand my kid off to someone else.
“Honestly, I cherish every single nappy that I change, I love making breakfast in the morning, I love playing with the rattle.
“People just assume that you’re going to have a host of nannies and it’s not something that I’ve ever wanted for myself or my family.
"My parents live around the corner - if I need a babysitter I’ll ring my mum.”
