Ed Sheeran says the song he wrote for Justin Bieber could have suited Rihanna.
The 26-year-old flame-haired hunk might have written chart-smasher 'Love Yourself' for the 23-year-old pop heartthrob, but he has admitted it would have been a great song for the R&B superstar too, as she could get away with raunchier lyric such as "you should go and f*** yourself".
He told Rolling Stone magazine: "It's his song, it's not my song ... I've written a bunch of songs I don't sing.
"If you like the way you look that much/ Oh, baby you should go and f*** yourself.
"Hearing Rihanna come in with a bit of that swag ... And Rihanna could get away with saying, 'you should go and f*** yourself', in my mind anyway."
And it seems the 'Eraser' hitmaker is desperate to write a tune for the 29-year-old Bajan beauty as he also said he wrote 'Shape of You' - from his latest album 'Divide' - with her in mind and it's his dream for her to do a remix version of the hit song because he's a big fan of her work.
He previously said: "I've loved Rihanna since 'Pom de Replay' and I kind of still want her to do 'Shape of You', she can just have it, she can take it from me."
And when it was suggested they do a remix together, he added: "I would love that, I think she's great...
"She's super fun too, every now and then you see Instagram photos of her doing really wild stuff she looks like she's fun."
